Being a part of this CCS team is possibly one of my happiest cosplay moments! Although due to this team, lots of pain was had, Cardcaptor Sakura was one of, if not my most favourite childhood anime. One of the ones that even before I knew what cosplaying was, I thought 'I wish I could be her!'. So I was extremely excited when Skye decided to form a CCS group and I was able to cosplay Sakura!

When I first decided to cosplay Sakura, I searched around to see which costume I should do. I wanted to cosplay something that not many people did and without realising just how painful this costume was to make, I decided to this version - the final battle manga version.

One of the things I'm most proud of about this costume is the fact that there is not one part that is bought (except for the black long sleeve top and leggings I'm wearing). It was also my first time making a hat, gloves and boot covers.

The skirt was pretty horrible to make due to the numerous pleats. I counted a total of approximately 90 pleats. These were all hand pleated and painstakingly ironed with the help of my mum. (I swear I'll never do this again... D: ) And because the material I chose was a type of chiffon, it was extremely hard to hold the pleats down to iron in the first place. But now that it is pleated, it stays and doesn't crease so it's really nice! :D

Although I was hoping to make the jacket myself, in the end, my mum pretty much helped me draft the pattern and sew the whole thing together. As well as this, my mum also helped me figure out my gloves (even though I'd tried it myself a few times... she can just control the sewing machine better and understand what I was doing wrong faster than I could...) So lots of love goes to my mum.

The hat and boot covers were made by myself along with the numerous stars, tassles, braids and staff (which isn't in the photo). I'm so glad everything ended up working out. Especially that the different pink materials ended up looking the same shade of pink. And I'm really glad I got to cosplay this with such an amazing group of people!!! <3<3<3

Also, our group won best group at Manifest 2011. YAY!!!!! Like I seriously wasn't expecting anything but I'm very proud of this group and what we managed to achieve!!

Oh my gosh. You look amazing! I love how your dress turned out! Would you mind if I asked what kind of pleats you did?
